The Bacon Brothers is the musical duo of Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael Bacon. Long before Kevin Bacon launched his prolific stage and screen career, and before Michael Bacon became known as a go-to composer for film and television, they were just two brothers, born nine years apart, coming of age in Center City Philadelphia. By the late 1960s, Michael, already a professional musician, would gig with his band at the city’s famed Electric Factory with a young Kevin tagging along when he could.

“Philadelphia Road – The Best Of” is the first Best Of compilation of The Bacon Brothers, which reflects the musical work of Kevin and Michael Bacon from the last 15 years. The Album contains 18 original Tracks taken from their first three albums with the addition of a recent collaboration with The Bellamy Brothers “Guilty of the Crime” and a re-mix of “Unhappy Birthday”, re-written for the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. The Bacon Brothers tell their life stories through poignant original songs that connect to everyone – whether a ballad or a great dance song.

The Best Of is the best representation of Kevin and Michael as songwriters and of the band’s evolution of style – it’s full of clever lyrics and a nice variety of musical styles. They definitely display the variety of genres – Folk, Rock, Soul, and Country (forosoco)- that they enjoy, as well as their talent as songwriters and the depth of band’s musicianship. With 20 songs, it is the perfect CD to have you smiling at the end of a long car ride or tiresome commute. You’ll find out that Kevin is not only an amazing actor but also a talented singer/songwriter. Michael is a professional musician known for scoring movies and documentaries. Their unique talents combine to create a pleasing folk/rock sound.
